I am so absent-minded... after I realised my report was changed and for some reason the saved version contained only the title page I was on the verge of panic. fortunately, I recalled that auto-saving is on, and those files must be hiding somewhere. after a short search I found that temporary saved files are stored in C:\Users\[nameoftheuser]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word
this will be a memo for me, huh...
