subtitles of my dream ~ perfection is not reachable?

watching 'Tegamibachi' with Commie subs. well as far as I know these are Commie subs. 'sempai' translated as 'he has more experience than me'. 'Lag-kun' translated as 'Lag, my boy'. the extract from Amberground verse is not 'heart is your master' but 'heart is thy Lord'
subtitles of my dream... *___*
only 12 people out of 36 - in other words, one third - like them on myanimelist, while Mochi and KSN have a positive rating close to 90%. this is unfair
ok, now I see this on their website
'tis not that my love for VLC will prevail over my love towards good translations, but... Commie already lost their #1 place in my list

then, m.3.3.w Fansubs - the only ones who satisfied me with their subs for Dantalian. as far as I remember, there was only 1 thing that enabled them to 'win' my favour - in ep. 4 the last line by Huey is translated as 'Hue Anthony Disward, the keykeeper to your heart' while the others ignored the play on words and simply made it 'at your disposal'. also, the dialogue of Dariane and Huey when they were going in the car was a good litmus test

subtitles for 'Ikoku Meiro' is something I still doubt. the version I liked most is Interrobang Fansubs, but Nemui also seems to be good. what influence my opinion is primarily again the 'language tricks' being either conveyed properly or not (properly in my opinion of course). for example, the place where Claude lived has more charm not becoming 'King's Gallery' but staying 'Gallerie du Roy' as in Japanese 'tis taken directly from the French as 'Gyarari- du Roa'. the same goes for 'mademoiselle' instead of '-san' etc. such trifles make subtitles much more enjoyable - of course if they don't go overboard - but many tend to forget that
