While this is an extremely good song in itself, talented - especially among the uninspiring creations of recent years, even if they came all the way to my city to perform, I'd say I wouldn't go to see. Somehow it's sad to see how a new song, being all that great, does not even get close to those average, usual tracks of Laruku that pierced my heart to tears when my friend first let me listen to them.

The Killers and Brandon Flowers ~ when I was young

I'm not asking you to understand, I know a song can have some special meaning in different situations for different people. But try to imagine what could be this wonderful music pouring down from the only radio station that introduced some rock into the everyday life of a high-schooler in a small port town in this corner of the world.

Part 1. The Killers 
anthem of my teenage - 'Mr. Brightside', 'Somebody told me'
The only source of rock, a radio station, frequently repeated The Killers' hits when they went out. The host of the program was speaking about rock world like it was a piece of cake for him, and it impressed me who was only 14 or something. A short song, but such a strong source of inspiration - had to try to finish a picture until the song ends. It's been 10 years. It's not true that such songs never change. They don't die and they don't become obsolete, that's true, but surely they stay inside their own time. For me, these two songs will forever stay a fragment of the anthem of my teenage.

The other great songs in the album are, for sure, 'Jenny Was a Friend of Mine' and 'Midnight Show'.
a song to think over - 'When You Were Young'
The second album is not my favourite, since except that one I did not like particularly any other song, however, I'm not saying it's bad. Still, 'When you were young' is a great, deep song with an overwhelming melody and impressing lyrics.

a song that took me some time to like - 'Read my mind'
At first I did not like it very much, but then my friend said to me: 'it's SUCH a wonderful song right?' And I listened to it again and thought - hell yeah. It is.

best song for a warm sunny afternoon in a fast moving bus - 'Human'
What I wanted to say is that 'Human' is a song that's actually good for any situation, but today was that magical moment when I felt the song kinda "superimpose" everything around me mysteriously and this created the wonderful effect of daydreaming.

best song for a walk down the hill towards the blue sparkling sea - 'Spaceman'
After getting off the bus, I had to go downhill to get to my destination. I swear 'Spaceman' is just perfect for such a walk. Because EVERYBODY LOOK DOWN!

best song for a morning run to the bus stop - 'Flesh and Bone'
You see where it goes, right? The Killers' music is very energetic, and that is why it fits any situation when one has to move fast himself or sees anything moving fast, or experiences any strong emotions. Last year, hearing this song for the first time, I was running from one bus stop to another in a hurry. Who could think being late for work can be so joyful?

the best and the only - 'Here with Me'
Since they don't have many slow ballads, 'Here with me' is proclaimed (by me) the best ballad in their discography.

Other latest songs that I'd recommend are 'Deadlines and Commitments', 'Shot at the Night' and 'Just another girl'. They are all very inspiring and emotional.

Part 2. Brandon

best song ever - 'Can't deny my love'

THE song that proclaimed to me that a new album is out - 'I can change'

I heard it on the radio and was impressed by it. However, I did not recognise Brandon at once. It was a shame, but this is what it means: even though I did not understand it's him, his song made me interested. I know there's the 'Smalltown boy' fragment in it, but it's beautifully merged with the vocals and the arrangement is wonderful.

Even though the percentage of the songs I like is not very big - 4 out of 27 in case of Brandon (15%) and 12 out of 81 (15%) for The Killers, those songs that I did choose are all really great.

Man with a Mission ~ one of the few artists featured in J-melo that I'm not ashamed with

Of course, wearing wolves' heads makes them stand out even more, but on the other hand, no one knows their faces and it means they surely don't aim to be recognised on streets and thus run after cheap fame.

In fact, I downloaded their albums much earlier than I saw them in J-melo which proves I found them somewhere in the web and even decided to give them a try. Why I decided to listen to their songs 3 weeks ago is just that they were the next in alphabetical order in the list after those I'd already listened to. And I must say, unlike that sh... well, that boring, face-only girls idol groups or boys-bands promoted by J-melo from one week to another as if there's nobody else to tell about, Man with a Mission are a one-of-a-kind band with unique sound. I do like their style a lot, and that's explained by the fact they have not only a vocalist and a guitarist and a drummer, but also a rapper, a DJ and an almost perfect English.

Oh yes, I have to underline that again - three weeks is a long period for me to listen to only one band. MWAM may be proud =)

nomination 'best song for jumping'

If I were asked, what song can be a representative of Wolves' art, I'd name 'Fly Away'. It's an extremely energetic song, and when I heard it for the first time, while walking down the street on a sunny but windy day in early April, I felt I was blown away by the 'YAAAAAAAAY' in its last chorus.

I couldn't sit still or stand still whenever I heard it.

The next song that shares the glory of winning in this nomination would be 'Bubble of life'

It happened the same day, just half an hour before I heard 'Fly Again' as I raised my head to the sky and saw the bright spring sun.

However, it's not my favourite ballad by MWAM, I got bored with it soon. What I choose as the best song of such kind is 'akatsuki'

Sometimes there are songs that don't simply inspire or impress, they sound like you've never heard anything better and even if you cease to exist the next moment, you'll have no regrets because you've heard it. 'Babylon' is just one perfect song that consists of several different by melody parts, and is not just a song but more like a short story - from what I understand, a happy ending one, moreover the cover of the album suggest there IS a story. By the way, the short intro of the same album named 'Tales of purefly' is a great instrumental piece and I like it a lot.

and their latest single, 'Seven deadly sins'

A few songs, like 'Hasta la Vista', 'Dance Everybody', or 'Wake myself again' are also interesting.

No comment... Or so I'd like to say, but in fact I want to say that I consider this a rare example of a cover when the new song does justice to the original but introduces something original and peculiar to the covering artist without spoiling the song itself.

All ballads except for those two and probably 'Moratorium' were too plain for me - especially 'Colours', 'White World' and 'Chasing Sunrise', which does not mean these are bad songs, but it's just that they're so 'westernised' or how should I put it? Just you average, mediocre slow song accompanied by guitar.
