my humble opinion on 'The Glow of Sunset in Asuka' by Moon Troupe (2004)

Zuka can heal us. I was already aware that I can easily be consoled by watching an anime, but Zuka's performances have even a greater effect on depressions

the most important fact
yaaay! I watched a show without Kiriya-sama in it!
'tis a big achievement for me, who is alsmost unable to tear off Kiriya-sama's performances and watch something different
actually, 'twas my initial intention, to watch the first performance I find in my Zuka folder, and accidentally I clicked on 'The Glow'. when I realized 'twas a Moon performance I thought 'twas my fate, to see Kiriya-sama again, but she did not turn up in the cast. I still wonder why... was she too busy with her dinner show? o.O

singing
a surprise. though not a good one, not a bad one, simply I was surprised with Ayaki-sama's voice, as I supposed her to have another kind of voice
Emi-san's voice was also a nice one to listen to. a 'warm' one, but also a sweet one, not too soft and not too piercing, which is good. not an outstanding one, which is not really bad, but not an advantage, too

acting
I chose Sena-sama's version to watch, as Oozora-sama is obviously not my preference, and Takashiro-san is simply unknown for me (and I have no will to get acquainted with her). now I even regret about it, as Sena-sama in the beginning was too cute for an 'evil' character
another important thing I realized, I love young siennas playing children. it began when I saw Reika-chan playing prince Louis Charles in SP. I was fond of young prince by Mira-chan in 'Prince of the Land of Roses'. I enjoyed the children version of Holly and Becky in 'Studio 54', and also those chidren in the orphanage. each time of that I did not realize I like the whole concept, I thought I liked that particular scene. now I can firmly state I love scenes envolving children characters. and this time we had Mirio playing the main character in his childhood. ohhhh, Mirio, thou wert a cute little girl once... I do not mean, she is not cute anymore, I mean she grew up, and her ken already exceedeth the 'junior' 7 level, and the young boys and girls are played by the next generation now
actually, I cannot name anything interesting about acting this time. 'twas not bad, but 'twas not outstanding. what I can remember from the performance is only the cry of Emi-san in the end and her following monologue about the happiness of a peaceful life with Karatsukuri that was already lost for her - that was impressing. I do think that siennas are great in showing the deep despair, which can consist in both loud sobbing and quiet shedding tears
as for the others, 'twas credible enough, but nothing special about them. I cannot even praise Sena-sana or Oozora-sama, as they showed nothing interesting during the play. everything was of high quality, but average at the same time. as for me, I prefer when people exceed themselves and do something out of their range every time. as Kiriya-sama said, 'tis no show if there is no challenge for a sienna

summary
the biggest advantge of the show is that, 'tis a Japanese one, with a story about Japan, with music, dance and songs being very close to the ancient Japanese ones. I would be happy to watch something Japanese sitting in the audience sometime. however, I cannot name any other attractive points of this particular performance. oh, I forgot, there are masochists among us (no offence guys, in my point of veiw ye art masochists...) who like tragedies - 'tis obviously a story for them, as it proveth one more time how cruel people can be out of jealosy - but let me be honest, 'tis no surprise, is it? and the way 'twas showed presenteth nothing unique to catch my eye
well, a nice thing to broaden our minds and kill some time

'Me and My Girl' funny moments - how much me loves those musicals can never be described with words

how can me resist while they're so funny?

first, a piece of advice from Sena-sama about what a person should do to calm down

then, a surprise on the stage

lessons about good manners in case we have guests of different height

and this one is me favourite!

- look, look!
- you're like a red flying squirrel!
- what's that 'red flying squirrel'? have you ever seen one? what is it ? what is it, that red flying squirrel?
- I saw one, recently...
- you saw one?
- yep
- and what did it look like? show me!
- it was like this...
- whaaaa?

no disrespect or discrimination intended

me just though... what if me intuition is not that bad?
well, me said Sena-sama suited Tsukigumi, but me is not saying she was Moonish to the core. the first part me saw her playing was Alex, and it influenced me a little, me should admit, but me was quite doubtful Sena-sama could really play a comical part. well. now methinks she can, but her 'type' or 'theatrical line' so as to say was a little inclining towards the 'affectedness' or even 'pathos' things.
so me suddenly felt like checking out who's the 'native' Mooner and who's a 'transferrer'
as me has spoken of Kiriya-sama and Sena-sama a lot, let us proceed further in the history.
Ayaki-sama. she was transfered to Moon just to become a Top. she didn't gain her position as soon as she entered, though. however, 'tis quite obvious she was to become a Top if she moved to Moon from Senka.
me has never liked Shibuki-sama too much for the reason she seemed to emotionless and somewhat cruel (well... me tends to have a starnge and wrong impression of people sometimes), but then me saw a small part of her performance and me saw how nice she could be. methought, me should watch her someday. then me knew she's also a Mooner, which is the next surprise in me line of me favourite siennas turning out to be Mooners. well. Shibuki-sama was working in other troupes for 10 years, but then she came to the Moon and spent 7 years there. 7 seems to be quite enough for me to count her as almost a 'native' one
Makoto-sama and Kuze-sama are the big mistakes of mine. though looking quite a lot of the Sena-sama type, they spent a long time in Moon.
the rest, however, seem quite Moonish to me. and they prove their Moonishness by working for Moon for the greater part of their career

the hopes are somewhat rising...

me just read that Asa and Ayano were also 'transferers'. so, they were also the kind of sienna me doesn't understand - transfered to another Troup to become a Top in a short time.
well, they suited the Moon, eh? maybe not perfectly but still...
moreover, me is just a beginner and me doesn't know the other Troup's N-bantes so me can't foresee just now if there are no siennas who proved to be great actresses and have enough experience to become the next Moon Top.
p. s. - me is not for a second doubting Sena-sama's perfection, nor is me critisizing the seniors of Zuka who made the decision about her transferring. me is only a little surprised she was made a Moon Top after 11 years of serving in Hana while Moon had Kiriya-sama as an insider for a much longer period and her debut was only a year or two later than that of Sena-sama...

me progress... of what?

me was really going to let the Moonies rest for a while and watch some other Troupe but when me sat down looking on the screen me typed 'hig...' automatically and so me started watching 'Higher than the sky of Paris' without actually comprehending what me has done.
'tis a little unfair to the other Troupes but apart from this me isn't disappointed with even a little detail. just every conversation and every song makes me smile in delight, try it yourselves if you wish.
the introduction of Gustav at the party was great
Armand - and now I leave all the explanation of the tower to mr Gustav Eifel!
Gustav - erm... here 'tis!
brief and.... and ^O^
the next follows talk between the brothers and Sena being like '1 000 000 - what's that scari~ng?' with her knees giving way
what makes us, the audience, a little sad, is when... let me call it N-bante if you be so kind 'cause 'tis too difficult for me to distinguish them in the age of Sena... so that N-bante confesses to the Top Musumeyaku-san and we, the audience, are deprived of the opportunity to guess what would follow and hope for a happy end - 'cause we know the stuff about the Top Star and the Top Musumeyaky, eh? so both Eiffel and even George having no chances made me a little sad and feel like me's watching some usual harem thing... >____<
how it happens me doesn't know but the parts Kiriya-sama plays are just almost always so suitable for her, so natural she looks while performing and so cute. this time me loves Eifel as well, his clumsiness and his stammering, everything makes him even more alive.
me was even more interested in the future N-bantes whom me loves so much. they have minor roles of course but how lovely and sweet they looked performing the kind of 'good guys'
as for the end, me ended up crying, quite involuntarily. why didn't the playwriters make Armand get on the staright and narrow??? me was soooo sad that even the loving heart of Mimi couldn't stop Armand from going away, or better to say, of going on - going on performing cheats and fraud
though me liked the idea of everyone forgiving Armand and George and recognizing their impact on the whole story as positive
the only consequence that doesn't make me too happy with all that kind of stuff is that the reality would never be that great, and the real people those girls present on the stage never happened to be that nice and kind and supportive and honest and... me can prolong the list so that it would be several kilometres long. me daresay, the sincerity of those girls is much higher than the sky of Paris, you know?
