my humble opinion on ART-SCHOOL ~ progress, regress...

ART-SCHOOL is a band whose playlist I was not making for a long time. before deciding anything about songs I had listened to the whole discography a lot of times. this means, I was enjoying a lot of songs but was not sure whether I should let them into my regular playlist
the truth is, ART-SCHOOL's playlist is one of the longest among all the playlists I have compiled, having 19 songs in it. however, the truth is also that it is unlikely to get longer. well, let me speak chronologically
'ato 10byou de'
yes, I discovered ART-SCHOOL thanks to AKFG's 'Nano-mugen Compilation'. even now I consider this song to be one of the best ART-SCHOOL's songs. though 'tis the first song in my playlist, I consider it much more mature than the following
Yogosaretai, Hikari to Shintai, kage machi, SAD SONG, Ghost of a beautiful view
are good ones, but they are still close to the initial style of ART-SCHOOL. let me be honest - the first indie albums were intolerable. in my mind they were full of simple unintelligible yelling into the mic. the songs I mention show a great progress from that into stylish band
Illmatic Baby - including Illmatic Baby itself, Yoru no Kodomotachi, Kimi wa Ima Hikari no Naka ni and BROKEN WHITE
marks a huge leap in terms of style. no, there was already good style earlier, but starting with Illmatic Baby ART-SCHOOL presents exclusive, unique music which is impossible to find anywhere else. there are truly a lot of bands whose music I cannot distinguish, but Illmatic Baby makes ART-SCHOOL the only one. one can easily see that I took 4 songs from the same album which is a rare thing. the usual amount of likeable songs from 1 album varies from 0 to 3, if it is a full album. Illmatic Baby is not, it only contains 6 songs. this is a completely unique case. only one thing is strange - 'kimi wa...' somewhat reminds me of Siam Shade's 'Ima wa Tada...'
STAY BEAUTIFUL, My Blue Sebastian, HEAVEN'S SIGN, LOST CONTROL, wish you were here, KILLING ME SOFTLY and Kimi wa Tenshi Datta from '14SOULS' album
present the same phenomenon. I highly doubt there was another case when out of 13 songs I took 7 into my playlist. I must also note that all the songs I named I like greatly even now, after hearing them dozens of time, unlike getting bored with them like it happens usually. the most important thing about ART-SCHOOL for me is that I do not particularly like the vocalist's voice. what really saves ART-SCHOOL is the perfectly stylish music, variety of genres and instruments used and to some extent - lyrics
ecole and Anesthesia
are the last two songs in the playlist which I do not really love, but consider rather pleasant
the last album - BABY ACID BABY
is an epic fail. after performing energetic, unusual, interesting, inspiring songs which used to make me unable to sit or stand still, ART-SCHOOL comes back to their early style and produced an album with 0 likeable songs. what really pissed me off is that I cannot comprehend this change. why? where has it gone, the special feeling that ART-SCHOOL had? some characteristic features are still there but the most important point is missing
why?
