Like he says himself in his interview to LessThan3, his music is for dancing, but also for a night at home or everywhere. Well, everywhere - except for the dance-floor - is where I was listening his tracks to.
best track in the discography - 'Depict'
Seriously, it's beautiful. I could not stand still when I was listening to it. It's inspiring. I won't be surprised if it leads me to draw something, maybe even today or tomorrow.
just wonderful - 'Blue light' and 'Alice in Wonderland'
These are wonderful. The other singles were also good. I could not choose any of them to say it was unsuccessful. But 'Blue light' and 'Alice' really create a very special feeling and are easy to associate with their titles.
an ode to Hokkaido - 'Sapporo' and 'Hakodate'
These were probably the best tracks in the first album, 'Sapporo'. Hearing them, I thought I could really feel how much mr Nakamura loves those places. Now that I learned that Daishi Dance is also from Sapporo, if what the aforementioned interview says is right, I can only wonder why Hokkaido gives birth to so many wonderful projects, since I've already fell in love with sakanaction.
promising but did not live up to expectations - 'There for me', 'Khafre'
The former had a wonderful title, but the music felt a bit plain. The latter had a strange mysterious name, but did not prove to be as interesting as it could.
ethnic - 'Words unspoken'
This track starts a bit plain, and I even always wonder why I included it into my playlist, but then I hear the middle part of the song and understand why...
some other tracks I'd recommend - 'Perception', 'Behind the sunset'
and the whole 'Days' album, especially 'Fauna' and '1247'
'Days', even though a title track for the album, was only half-good
best song for a brisk-paced walk - just any of them
I don't know if it's only me, but my pace is slightly faster than 2 steps a second, which is considered to be a good pace for a healthy walk. It looks like progressive house is just what's necessary to keep the pace, huh? =) Anyway, almost all mr Nakamura's tracks are having 125 to 129 BPM - and they matched my pace nicely. I was feeling wonderful when walking down the street and looking around me with mr Nakamura's music filling up my head.
