IMHO. 'Shitamachi rocket' ~ one Hiroshi Abe versus plenty of tear-jerking drama

There's a limit to how blunt your expression of nostalgia for the good-old-times can be, dear creators. Those old times when small companies produced world-class technological innovations and hand-made superb machinery parts, with a wise director who has a dream to make this world better and devoted workers who stay for an all-nighter to save the company from crises even though their director asks them not to. When perfection was the only acknowledged result, when social benefits were the only motive.
When high-precision drafts were judged in such terms as
I mean, Abe is good. Kikkawa is good. Some others are rather good as well. Music by Takayuki Hattori is absolutely wonderful. It felt so familiar after I watched 'Slayers' movies just a month ago. But you know, 21 hours of men shouting at each other or crying together while delivering inspiring speeches - it's too much.
Lawyers behaving so unprofessionally that they can't help swearing in court, because they're bad guys - it's too much. Section leaders throwing their subordinates' reports into them, because the leaders are rotten bad guys - it's too much. Assessors calling the assessed company's employees a bunch of useless junk, just because they're shameless bad buys - it's too much.
Two photos of two objects, even though similar, matching perfectly after being combined and increased in size - it's too much.
I really doubt Japan would be such a leader in technology and innovations if people there behaved so unprofessionally.
At least you could check how to spell a simple computer command when creating a drama about technology...
I do certainly look like I was trying to find fault with this drama, but how can I help it if there's absolutely nothing else - no character development, even no personalities, no drama in fact...
Can nice acting make up for this coarse approach? I'm afraid no. The crudeness outweighs almost all nice moments. But at least you can learn many useful words related to business and industry if you watch in Japanese.
